Welcome to the Australian Maritime Hydrodynamics Research Centre.
The Australian Maritime Hydrodynamics Research Centre Centre is a collaborative
research organisation, established in late 2002 as
part of the Commonwealth Government's Major National Research Facilities Program by the
Australian Maritime College, the Defence Science and Technology Organisation of the
Department of Defence and the University of Tasmania.
The vision of the Centre is to provide an internationally competitive experimental
and theoretical hydrodynamic research capability for Australia
We aim to provide the nation with a suite of complementary hydrodynamic research
facilities and to develop an advanced capability and the intellectual capital in
Australia for research into the hydrodynamic performance of naval and civilian craft,
fishing gear, and aquaculture sea cages. Our customer base includes defence, maritime
industry and research academia.
